The Multifamily Housing Ordinance (MFHO) was sold as a way to make Cambridge more affordable. Instead, it has accelerated luxury redevelopment, encouraged the demolition of existing homes, and bypassed meaningful Planning Board and public review of large housing projects.

Good housing policy should be based on evidence, careful planning, and accountability—not wishful thinking, one-size-fits-all zoning, or developer profits. Cambridge deserves housing policies that are transparent, accountable, and based on facts—not assumptions.

Our housing policy should be the subject of careful planning before more neighborhoods are fundamentally changed. Before changing Cambridge forever through more demolitions and neighborhood-damaging development, let’s make sure our housing policies will actually achieve their stated goals.

Sign the petition. Tell the City Council to amend the MFHO and put thoughtful planning ahead of unchecked redevelopment.
